What is your role at Optical Express?
"My name is Lesley Taylor. I've worked for Optical Express for a year now. I started in the position of IOL business manager and then I was given the opportunity in October to join the Bridgewater Hospital. I've now got the position of director of the Bridgewater Hospital which I really love."
What is the best thing about working for Optical Express?
"The best thing about working for Optical Express is – and I know this sounds like a cliché, but – it's changing peoples lives. It's great to see them the day after surgery and they've got that real wow factor – they can see without their glasses. In the Bridgewater Hospital we see patients with all sorts of conditions. We see them before surgery, or before a scan and they’re really concerned about something, then we see them after their treatment and they're absolutely over the moon. They're bringing chocolates and cards for the surgeons, and thanking all the staff. It really feels really good."
How would you best describe our patient care?
"I think the patient care at Optical Express is second to none. I've been a patient myself in the past – I had laser eye surgery – so I've experienced it from a patient's point of view, and I can't imagine any better care that could be given then we give at Optical Express."
What makes Optical Express unique?
"We do really have a solution for everybody. Even beyond laser eye surgery, when people get rid of their glasses, they will often come into the Bridgewater Hospital enquiring about cosmetic surgery, maybe to tidy up their bleffs, and just some facial features, and it's great to be able to offer them the complete solution."
Why should someone consider working for Optical Express?
"I'm really glad I joined Optical Express. If you're in the field of optics or ophthalmology, this really is the company to be involved with. We scour the world for the latest technology, we've got a panel of experts who guide all our business decisions, it's a secure business, and it's just a great place to be."
