Optical Express have developed a range of courses that are implemented in-house, from HR and Management Systems and Procedures to Optical Dispensing courses. We also offer courses at SVQ level from IT Training and Microsoft Packages to Customer Care, encouraging lifelong learning and personal development. Most of these courses are aligned with the national curriculum for further education and are recognised by the country's leading educational bodies.
There is a clear career structure within the company for all staff.
On completion of their pre-registration period, our pre-registration optometrists advance to the position of optometrist. They can then decide to pursue a role in either core optics or as a laser trained optometrist. At the next level are our optometry development managers and professional services managers who oversee the progression of staff, offering additional advice and encouragement. Many of these senior positions are held by optometrists who have progressed through exceptional clinical and commercial performance.
There is also a clear structure for retail employees and a wide range of opportunities for dispensing opticians and optical assistants to progress to positions such as store manager, general manager or laser counsellor.
